I used to blog. A LOT.
Back in Sixth Form, rather than actually use my free periods to study, I would sit in the quiet study area, furiously typing away on Live Journal (LJ, for fellow emo bloggers) pouring my heart, soul, and current favourite song lyrics onto my online “journal” with excessive punctuation, and an overuse of italics and bold fonts that would make any hipster coffee shop jealous.
I became part of a community, people from all over the world, and a select few friends that I would allow to read my innermost thoughts.
As it goes, I’m no longer in contact with those friends; I am, however, still in contact with one of the people who I became blog buddies with! She’s a kind hearted, creative Canadian woman, with a beautiful soul and a gorgeous smile. We’ve been online friends for about 12 years now, and when I announced my departure from LJ we became Facebook friends and exchange Christmas cards each year.
This first post on my new blog is dedicated to her.
